LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A motorcyclist is in critical condition after colliding with a car in southeast Las Vegas on Sunday morning.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the collision occurred on South Eastern Avenue, south of East Wigwam Avenue, at 10:48 a.m.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a 2020 Toyota Sienna was exiting a private driver onto Eastern and failed to yield the right-of-way to a southbound 2000 Yamaha V-Star XVS650.

The collision occurred when the front of the Yamaha struck the left front of the Toyota, resulting in damage to both vehicles.

The 33-year-old male operating the motorcycle was transported to Sunrise Hospital by ambulance, where he remains in critical condition. The 72-year-old driver of the Toyota displayed signs of impairment at the scene and was booked for DUI-related charges.

“This collision remains under investigation by the LVMPD Collision Investigation Section,” LVMPD noted in a release.
