LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) -You may have a nuisance home in your neighborhood that won’t let up on parties.
If you do, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department wants to know about it.
Metro Police recently put out information on the Summerlin Area Command Facebook page that details how it wants help in locating chronic nuisance or party homes. People are urged to call 9-1-1 for an active emergency or crime taking place.
The department urges people to call 3-1-1 to make police aware of suspicious or nuisance activity. The department also says people can submit a service request, where an officer would be assigned to help find solutions.
Police walked us through the process of submitting a service request. First, go to lvmpd.com. At the top of the page go to “Services.” Next, go to Online Services on the left side of the page and click on an area command where you live. There, you will find service request information, along with phone numbers of areas to call to address different issues. If those numbers don’t meet your needs, police say you can then fill out a service request form and submit it.
Metro Police tell FOX5 that a community-oriented policing program officer will be assigned to help solve your problem. Police say officers can sometimes get to a request right away, depending on what’s happening on a particular day in that area command. Police say if you don’t hear back right away you can call your area command or visit it to speak with someone.
Police also say the public can speak directly to officers at “Coffee with a Cop” and “First Tuesday” events, which are listed on area command social media pages.
Police say they want to know what’s happening in neighborhoods to address ongoing issues or prevent things before they become a problem. Police say neighbors often knew of problems but didn’t report them. It is something the department would like to change.
