LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The personal finance website WalletHub examined which states have seen the biggest increases in unemployment claims, and its report reveals that Nevada is struggling in this department.
According to the report, unemployment claims in the state were up 3.08% compared to last week—a rise of over 26% compared to the same time period last year. The report also ranked states overall, using several key benchmark weeks as well as the number of claims per 100,000 people in the labor force.
Nevada was ranked #7 nationally for increased claims on that list.
North Dakota, Minnesota and Iowa were the states with the biggest increase in unemployment claims. Utah, Kentucky and Ohio were the lowest compared to last week.
