LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A survey wants your input on traffic, parking and overall congestion in Chinatown as tourism surges in the corridor and businesses want solutions to a growing problem: customers having trouble finding parking.
Even on a weeknight, FOX5 can see vehicles circle the lot numerous times in Shanghai Plaza as customers search for any available parking spot.
Sit-down restaurant Weera Thai describes the problem as customers’ main complaint.
“Customers call: ‘It’s hard to find parking, so I cannot park. I have to go to the other restaurant,’” said general manager Wiritpol Pungnem. “Customer opinion is to expand more parking for the customer,” he said, noting that levels for parking would help customers of second-floor businesses.
A meme describing customers’ predicaments has been made popular by local blogger “Las Vegas Issues”.
Locals, tourists and small businesses can fill out the Inspiring Spring Mountain survey to weigh in on what improvements they suggest.
