After not taking place in 2023 or 2024, the AMAs returned in 2025 with a broadcast from the Fontainebleau Las Vegas hosted by Jennifer Lopez.

Before moving to Las Vegas, the show was held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles — formerly known as the Nokia Theatre and Microsoft Theater — from 2007 to 2022.

The show, which marked its 50th anniversary last year, highlights contemporary artists and songs across a range of genres and age groups, and features performances and special segments.

Past hosts have included Jimmy Kimmel, Cardi B and Pitbull, among others, and some of the show’s most prominent categories include Artist of the Year, New Artist of the Year and Song of the Year.

Taylor Swift currently holds the record for most AMAs with 40 wins, followed by Michael Jackson with 26.

Nominations are scheduled to be announced on Tuesday, April 14.
