LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – In honor of “National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day” on April 30, the Animal Foundation is offering residents of the Las Vegas area a chance to bring home a new pet fee-free.
According to a media release, Best Friends Animal Society is sponsoring adoption fees for all dogs and cats from Friday, April 26 through Tuesday, April 30. The fee-waived adoptions include spay/neuter surgery, microchip, and up-to-date vaccinations. A $10 license fee may apply.
“With Tuesday, April 30th being National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day, we hope people will open their hearts and homes to the animals in our shelter. As of today, we have 296 animals available for adoption. We have some dogs who have been with us since January. As loving and caring as our staff is, the shelter is no substitute for a cozy home,” said Kelsey Pizzi, The Animal Foundation’s Communications Manager.
Adoptions take place on a first-come, first-served basis for walk-in traffic, beginning at 11 a.m., Tuesday through Sunday. Potential adopters often line up outside before The Animal Foundation opens, especially before a fee-waived event. Please note that the Animal Foundation is closed on Mondays.
