LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Nevada State Police said an Arizona woman died in a crash south of Las Vegas.

The crash happened Friday, Jan. 3 on US 95 at mile marker 35. This is about 15 miles north of Searchlight and 57 miles south of Las Vegas.

Investigation shows that Dakota Ann Borders, 35, drove a 2005 Toyota Matrix northbound on US 95 approaching MM35. Police said the driver did not stay in the lane and drove into the dirt center median.

Police said she tried to get back on the road but ended up on the right dirt shoulder and rotated clockwise.

Borders was not wearing a seatbelt or any other restraint, police said. She was separated from the Toyota and died at the scene.

The investigation is being conducted by the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol – Traffic Homicide Unit.
