LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Mortenson and McCarthy Building Companies presented their Las Vegas Athletics Ballpark plans.
The A’s selected Mortenson and McCarthy to embark on a joint venture to develop the 36,000-square-foot ballpark.
The facility will be an enclosed multi-event sports arena.
The park will claim 9 acres of the 35-acre site, which will be shared with Bally’s integrated resort.
The arena will be expected to host special events such as concerts, dirt sports, and more.
The venue will be along Tropicana Avenue, Las Vegas Boulevard, and Reno Avenue.
The construction company’s concept for the exterior of the building will mimic an armadillo’s shell to block the sun.
Like Allegiant Stadium, the metal roof will be finished with ETFE material, which is lightweight and resistant to high temperatures.
Mortenson Construction is responsible for developing Allegiant Stadium, Chase Center, and Target Field.
McCarthy Building construction projects include UNLV Hospitality Hall, Circa Resort, and MGM Grand.
According to reports, the project is expected to break ground in 2025.
The projected completion date is 2028.
