LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The Athletics have extended spring training invites to 31 non-roster players as pitchers and catchers prepare to report on February 11th, with full squad workouts beginning on the 16th.
The invites include 18 players who were in the Athletics organization at the end of the 2025 campaign and 13 free agents who signed minor league deals following the season. The non-roster invitees are not part of the 40-man roster but will provide preseason depth.
Top prospects highlight invitee list
The Athletics currently have three players in their farm system who cracked MLB Pipeline’s top 100 prospects list.
Infielder Leo De Vries ranks fourth on the list after being acquired from San Diego at the 2025 trade deadline in a blockbuster deal. De Vries made his Double-A debut at age 19 and is on the fast track to the majors.
Jamie Arnold, the Athletics’ first-round pick in the 2025 draft, comes in at number 41. The left-handed pitcher was selected 11th overall out of Florida State and features a solid three-pitch mix. With fine-tuning in the minors, Arnold could be slotted into the middle of the Athletics rotation in the near future.
The third player on the top 100 is left-handed pitcher Gage Jump at number 57. Jump was drafted in 2024 and named the Athletics Organizational Pitcher of the Year after compiling a 9-7 record with a 3.28 ERA. He held opponents to an average OPS of .598 in 26 games through the High-A and Double-A levels.
