LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A colorful Puerto Rican home featured in Bad Bunny’s recent performances has been recreated as a pop-up photo experience in Las Vegas, turning a cultural moment from the global stage into a local movement.
The casita, which became a cultural emblem tied to Bad Bunny’s recent music and performances, now serves as a photo opportunity near the Arts District through March 1.
Event planner Markos Valerio of Lujan Luxury Events organized the project with local photographers, donating part of the proceeds from photo sessions to Dream Big Nevada, a local nonprofit helping DACA recipients.
“Anything that has to do with the Latino community or Latino culture, I feel very close. I can relate to it because it gives me that sense of pride and joy of being able to do something for the Latino community with intention,” Valerio said.
Cultural details matter to organizers
Organizers focused on authentic details when creating the set, particularly the traditional chairs that are central to the display.
“I think the chairs represent family. They represent culture,” said photographer Lulu Flores.
Valerio shared a personal connection to the furniture choice.
“So my abuelita, we called her Ama growing up. We would sit in front of her front yard with these chairs,” he said.
The project aims to build community support across cultural lines. Michelle McAdams, who participated in the experience, said she wanted to show solidarity.
“I think it’s important, being someone who isn’t Latino, to show my support and love for my people and my family, and just be the change and the hope that there is for all of our people,” McAdams said.
Organizers said they want to echo Bad Bunny’s message of perseverance and compassion to the Las Vegas community.
“Don’t give up and do everything with love,” Valerio said.
The photo sessions are available by appointment through March 1.
