LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A bicyclist was left with life-threatening injuries after being struck by a car Sunday night.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the crash occurred at East Tropicana Avenue and Wilbur Street around 11:37 p.m. Police determined that a K2 Astral 1.0 mountain bike was traveling south on Wilbur and entered the path of a Volkswagen Atlas traveling east on Tropicana, which struck the right side of the bike.
Arriving officers transported the bicyclist to Sunrise Hospital, where the 34-year-old woman remains in critical condition.
The Volkswagen driver, identified as 66-year-old Juan Dominguez, was accused of impairment and arrested on DUI-related charges.
This collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Collision Investigation Section.
