Hotel security told police he had been detained after breaking into the flamingo habitat.
According to an arrest report, Fairbarn grabbed one flamingo in the habitat that later escaped his grasp.
Video shows him grabbing a second flamingo, wrapping it in a shirt, and then taking it to the 14th floor of the hotel.
Police obtained a search warrant for Fairbarn’s room.
The report included a few photos, timestamped.

Police interviewed Fairbarn. He told officers he was drunk and he thought he saw a flamingo in distress. He said he used to be a “farm boy” and tried to help it by “popping” its wing back into place.
Animal Protection Services said the flamingo’s wing was clipped.
Police say multiple flamingos were injured, including one named “Peachy.”
