LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The Boulder City couple accused of hoarding nearly 200 animals will serve a suspended sentence on house arrest.

Timothy Miller, 79, and Carolyn Luke, 73, pleaded no contest to misdemeanor animal abuse charges last week and a judge sentenced them to six months in jail on each count. During a hearing on Tuesday, the judge ruled that they will each serve a two-and-a-half-year suspended sentence on house arrest.

The Boulder City couple accused of hoarding nearly 200 animals pleaded no contest to misdemeanor animal abuse charges on Thursday.

The defendants will receive house arrest bracelets on Wednesday and will be released. Their conditions of release include mandatory counseling and a prohibition on owning animals. Their homes and vehicles can be randomly searched to ensure compliance.

The court noted that monitoring could be switched to GPS to allow them to leave their home if all goes well.
