LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A box truck overturned after crashing into a Las Vegas Valley Water District vehicle on Thursday morning in the east valley.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the crash occurred around 4:07 a.m. on Marion Drive and East Charleston Boulevard. Before the crash, an LVVWD truck was conducting maintenance work on a water valve in the middle of the intersection and had set up traffic control in the road.

A yellow box truck collided with the work truck, striking it on the rear passenger side before overturning. Police report minor injuries for the box truck driver, though no water district employees were injured.

A spokesperson for the water district tells FOX5 that the truck involved in the crash currently has “relatively significant” damage, though it is still being evaluated.

The water district adds that no citations were issued for its employees.
