LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Officials from Boyd Gaming confirmed a cybersecurity incident had led to data being compromised, according to government documents.

According to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Boyd Gaming Corporation recently faced a cybersecurity incident. Officials said the incident had no impact on the company’s properties or business operations.

“Upon detecting the incident, the Company promptly took steps to respond to the incident with the assistance of leading external cybersecurity experts and in cooperation with federal law enforcement authorities,” the filing said.

Information about some employees and “a limited number of other individuals” was removed by a third party, the document said, adding that the impacted individuals have been notified.

“As of the date of this filing, the Company believes that the incident will not have a material adverse effect on the Company’s financial condition or results of operations,” the document said.

The document detailed Boyd Gaming’s “comprehensive cybersecurity insurance policy,” which officials expected to cover costs related to the incident and investigations.
