LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Work is speeding up to move travelers in and out of the valley to Rancho Cucamonga faster.

Brightline West announced field investigation work in Southern Nevada along i-15.

Drivers may see crews conducting land surveys and utility potholing.

Officials say most work will take place during the day with some taking place at night to minimize disruption to traffic.

In some cases, short-term closures may be spotted along the shoulders of the freeway.

I-15 at Silverado Ranch Boulevard is just one of 7 locations where crews will be located.

The goal is to have the rail system running by the summer of 2028.

The project is expected to create 11-thousand jobs. Many of those jobs are available while building the rail line.
