LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5)—Brightline West shared updates on field investigation work scheduled in Southern California.

According to reports, the work includes collecting geotechnical borings and samples, utility potholing, and surveying the area’s land.

Work hours will take place throughout the day.

Officials expect short-term closures of freeway shoulders to be required.

Brightline West has asked drivers to take extra caution when traveling through work zones.

Signage on detours and adjusted speed limits have been placed in work zones.

The high-speed rail is set between Southern California and Las Vegas.(Brightline West)

Updated project areas are listed below.

On I-15 from Wheaton Springs to Holleran Road:

Plate load testing will be performed in the freeway center median.

Monday, Sept. 16, to Friday, Sept. 20, 6 a.m.- 4 p.m.

On I-15 from Baker Blvd. to Field Road:

Plate load testing is scheduled near the freeway center median.

Monday, Sept. 16, to Friday, Sept. 20, from 6 a.m. – 4 p.m.

On I-15 from Mojave Drive to Palmdale Road:

Monday, Sept. 16, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., geotechnical borings on the northbound Mojave Drive on-ramp are scheduled for night closures.

Similar field work is scheduled on the northbound Palmdale Road on-ramp on Tuesday, Sept. 17, from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Drivers can expect night closures near the northbound Palmdale Road off-ramp on Wednesday, Sept. 18, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

More geotechnical borings fieldwork is scheduled for night closures for the northbound Roy Rodgers on-ramp on Thursday, Sept. 19, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-15 between Ranchero Road and SR 395 Connector:

Geotechnical borings are scheduled on the center median at Ranchero Road.

Monday, Sept. 16, from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Night closures are scheduled on Tuesday, Sept. 17, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., the southbound exterior shoulder before the SR395 connector ramp.

Near Riverside Road (I-15):

Potholing will occur south of Riverside Road, outside the northbound and southbound I-15 freeway limits but within Caltrans’s Right of Way.

Monday, Sept. 16, 2024, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Near Alvord Mountain Road (I-15):

Scheduled potholing will occur near Alvord Mountain Road within the northbound and southbound I-15 center median.

Monday, Sept. 16, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Near Minneola Road (I-15):

Potholing will occur near Minneola Road within the northbound and southbound I-15 center median.

Monday, Sept. 16, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Near Gurdley Street (I-15):

Potholing is scheduled south of Gurdley Street, outside the northbound and southbound I-15 freeway limits but within Caltrans’s Right of Way.

Monday, Sept. 16, from 8 a.m. through 5 p.m.

Near Stoddard Wells Road (I-15):

According to an official release, potholing is set to occur near Stoddard Wells Road outside the northbound I-15 freeway limits but within Caltrans’s Right of Way.

Sewer inverts will be dipped near Stoddard Wells Road on both sides of the I-15 outside Caltrans’s Right of way.

Monday, Sept. 16, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Soapmine Road, Under the Freeway (I-15):

Officials said potholing will require lane closures on Soapmine Road.

Tuesday, Sept. 17, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

East of ZZYZX Road (I-15):

Potholing will occur East of ZZYZX Road within the northbound and southbound I-15 center median.

Tuesday, Sept. 17, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

North of Stoddard Wells Road (I-15):

Potholing will occur north of Stoddard Wells Road, outside the northbound and southbound I-15 freeway limits.

Tuesday, Sept. 17, from 8 a.m. through 5 p.m.

Near Barstow Road (I-15):

Shoulders are required to close near Barstow Road within the northbound and southbound I-15 center median for potholing.

Wednesday, Sept. 18, 8 a.m. through 5 p.m.

Near Muriel Dr (I-15):

Potholing will occur near Muriel Dr. outside the northbound and southbound I-15 freeway limits, and shoulder lanes will be required to close.

Wednesday, Sept. 18, from 8 a.m. through 5 p.m.

Near Mojave Dr (I-15):

Potholing will occur near Mojave Dr. outside the southbound I-15 freeway limits but within Caltrans’s Right of Way.

Sewer inverts will be dipped near Mojave Dr. on both sides of I-15 outside Caltrans’s right-of-way.

Wednesday, Sept. 18, from 8 a.m. through 5 p.m.

H Street (I-15):

Lanes must close on H Steert for potholing under the I-15 along H Street within Caltrans’s Right of Way.

Lanes will also close near the center I-15 median and outside the southbound I-15 limits but within Caltrans’s Right of Way.

Thursday, Sept. 19, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

South of Lenwood Road (I-15):

Road work is scheduled south of Lenwood Road outside the northbound and southbound I-15 freeway limits.

Thursday, Sept. 19, 8 a.m. through 5 p.m.

Near Mojave Dr (I-15):

Near Mojave Dr., potholing work is scheduled outside the northbound I-15 freeway limits.

Thursday, Sept. 19, from 8 a.m. through 5 p.m.

Near Stoddard Wells Road (I-15):

Potholing will occur near Stoddard Wells Road outside the southbound I-15 freeway.

Friday, Sept. 20, 8 a.m. through 5 p.m.

Near Quarry Road (I-15):

Officials have scheduled roadwork south of Quarry Road, outside the northbound and southbound I-15 freeway limits.

Friday, Sept. 20, from 8 a.m. through 5 p.m.

Near Roy Rogers Dr (I-15):

Potholing will occur south of Roy Rogers Dr., outside the northbound and southbound I-15 freeway limits.

Friday, Sept. 20, from 8 a.m. through 5 p.m.
