LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Broadacres Marketplace has announced that it will officially reopen on August 1, according to a press release Monday.

After abruptly closing on June 21, the marketplace will resume its normal operations and schedule this weekend.

“The reopening marks an important moment of continuity for the thousands of families, vendors, and visitors who rely on and support this beloved marketplace,” the release reads.

FOX5 spoke with local vendors, who expressed concerns and frustration about the market’s sudden closure.

“We had high hopes, we came with a lot of enthusiasm to know what we could expect but now I’m leaving frustrated,” vendor De La Luz Lopez told FOX5.

The closure came a week after more than 100 federal agents from ICE and the FBI, many in tactical gear and masks, swept through the most popular swap meet near Los Angeles – the Santa Fe Springs Swap Meet.

FOX5 previously reported, the Santa Fe Springs Swap Meet and Broadacres in North Las Vegas are owned by the same parent company, Newport Diversified Inc.

Sources told FOX5 the company believed federal agents were planning to carry out a similar operation at the most popular swap meet in Las Vegas – Broadacres Marketplace.

According to Monday’s release, the reopening will “feature family-friendly activities, including kids’ attractions and festive food fair.”

The festivities are set to begin at 4 p.m.
