GERLACH, Nev. (KOLO) – The Pershing County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a single white adult male that happened in Black Rock City on Saturday, Aug. 30, according to a statement from the Burning Man Project.

Burning Man is cooperating with law enforcement.

The Pershing County Sheriff’s Office investigates all deaths that occur in its jurisdiction.

“The safety and well-being of our community are paramount,” the Burning Man Project statement said.

In 2024, 39-year-old Kendra Frazer died at Burning Man.

The Sheriff’s Office is the primary source for further information.

Burners are asked not to interfere with law enforcement activity, the statement said.

There is free public WiFi at the 3 and 9 o’clock plazas; Playa Info near Center Camp; Ranger HQ at Esplanade and 6:30; Emergency Services Department station at 5:15 and Esplanade; and Center Camp.

These sites are available 24-hours-a-day for Burners in Black Rock City who need support.

– Black Rock Rangers at Ranger headquarters at Esplanade and 6:30, and Outposts behind the 3:00 and 9:00 Plazas.

– Black Rock City’s Emergency Services Department’s Crisis Support team at the ESD stations at 5:15 and Esplanade, and behind the 3:00 and 9:00 Plazas.
