LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Nevada State Police said one driver died in a crash at I-11 and the 215 beltway while the other was arrested on DUI and stolen vehicle charges.
Police said the crash happened at I-11 and the 215 beltway around 1:30 a.m. at the westbound flyover ramp.
Police said one driver is accused of stealing a 2008 Gillig Transit passenger bus. It was “disabled” and parked on the flyover ramp in the far left travel lane.
At the same moment, a 48-year-old man drove a 2008 Honda Pilot westbound in the same travel lane.
Police said the Honda driver struck the rear of the bus. He rotated clockwise until he hit a concrete barrier. Police later identified the driver as Edy Octavio Hernandez-Roldan.
The other driver was not identified. The bus driver was arrested for possessing a stolen vehicle as well as DUI charges.
The investigation is being conducted by the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Region One – Traffic Homicide Unit.
