LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — An arrest has been made in a hit-and-run crash that killed a 29-year-old Las Vegas man, law enforcement officials said.

Stephon Watkins, 37, of Sacramento, CA, was arrested on hit-and-run and reckless driving charges, police said.

The arrest stems from a hit-and-run crash that killed Jeffrey Diedenhofen, 29, of Las Vegas. It happened just after 3:30 a.m. on May 30 near the intersection of Flamingo Road and South Las Vegas Boulevard.

Police said Diedenhofen was crossing Flamingo Road outside of a marked or implied crosswalk when he was struck by an oncoming BMW vehicle, driven by Watkins. Investigators said the vehicle continued without stopping, and was eventually found a short distance away from the crash, unoccupied.

Watkins was arrested in Sacramento on Sunday and transported back to Clark County. He is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday at 8 a.m.
