LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — NASCAR fans at this weekend’s Pennzoil 400 will have the opportunity to learn more about colorectal cancer screening.
Guardant Health, a precision oncology company, will be at the Las Vegas Speedway to educate people about Shield. It’s the first and only blood test approved by the FDA as a primary screening option for colon cancer. People 45 or older who are at an average risk of colorectal cancer are eligible for the screening.
This is part of Guardant’s Shield Across America tour, with the goal of educating people about colorectal cancer screening. Health experts have recently been sounding the alarm about a rise in colorectal cancer cases among younger Americans.
Guardant will have experts on-hand in the Fan Zone at the Las Vegas Speedway at the below times:
- Friday, March 13: 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
- Saturday, March 14: 8:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
- Sunday, March 15: 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
The American Cancer Society estimates that, in 2026, 1,530 Nevadans will be diagnosed with colorectal cancer. An estimated 580 will die from it.
