LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Clark County firefighters responded to a fire in the east valley that displaced six people on Tuesday morning.
The Clark County Fire Department responded to the 4600 block of East Cleveland Avenue around 4:45 a.m. after receiving several calls about the fire. Arriving crews reported a single-story, single-family home engulfed in flames, and possibly spreading to a nearby house.
Callers would tell dispatchers that everyone was out of the home, but multiple dogs were still inside. Firefighters would bring multiple dogs out of the home, but would eventually find one cat and two dogs dead inside.
No other injuries were reported to firefighters or civilians.
The fire was extinguished around 5:08 a.m.
American Red Cross responded to the scene to assist the six residents displaced in the fire. Southwest Gas, Cox, and NV Energy were also at the scene to secure utilities.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but the dollar loss is currently estimated to be around $50,000 to $100,000.
