LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Clark County School District officials have announced an adjustment to school start times for the 2026 – 2027 school year after surveying the community.
CCSD Superintendent Jhone Ebert announced the adjustment to school start times for the upcoming school year beginning Monday, August 10, 2026.
CCSD New Start Times:
- Middle Schools – 7:30 a.m.
- High Schools – 8:30 a.m.
- Elementary Schools – 9:15 a.m.
According to research, teens are biologically wired to stay up late and wake up late. Superintendent Ebert says the adjustment will benefit students’ health, safety, and academic achievement.
CCSD conducted two surveys to gauge support for pushing the district’s start time back 30 minutes.
