LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – On Thursday evening, the Clark County School District Board of Trustees ultimately took no action on the future of Lundy Elementary, the only school on Mt. Charleston.

An initial motion was made to reject the recommendation to close the school, but it didn’t receive enough votes to pass. A follow-up motion was made to accept recommendations to close the school also failed to pass.

The clock is ticking to find out the fate of the only school on Mt. Charleston.

CCSD claims it is going to cost up to $6 million to repair the damages made by Tropical Storm Hilary last year, but FOX5 found out that insurance paid out $1.5 million, but it still was not enough, according to CCSD.

“There is $3 million of excluded cost,” a representative from CCSD said.

The next regular CCSD board meeting is scheduled for July 11.
