LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The Clark County School District is expanding the number of focus groups that would get feedback about the next superintendent.

Thursday night, the trustees heard the response to an online survey has been “exceptional” with more than 12,000 people weighing in so far.

About 50 percent of the survey were parents. Another 24 percent are teachers or licensed professionals. Students also made a pig piece with more than 1,300 taking the online survey.

Some trustees raised concerns that communities without higher broadband access need more in-person sessions. The board’s president agreed to work on setting up more focus groups in North Las Vegas and east Las Vegas.

HYA Associates, the search firm hired by the district, said registration for virtual focus groups are high.

The board voted to add 17 more sessions. There’s a link on the district’s website if you’re interested in the virtual or in-person sessions.
