RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – The Carson City Sheriff’s office says two cars taken from a local dealership have been located and recovered.

The CCSO says, around 10:40 a.m. Monday, managers of the General Motors Dealership contacted them about two pickups, which they say were taken around 2 that morning. The dealership also reportedly talked to California authorities. Shortly after, California Highway Patrol said it had found the cars on the I-5 freeway and were actively pursuing them.

The two cars reportedly sped off in different directions, prompting two separate high-speed chases on the freeways and through downtown Los Angeles neighborhoods. Both chases ended with the arrest of the drivers. No one was hurt, but the chase apparently caused minor damage to one of the stolen pickups and one Highway Patrol vehicle.

Carson City Detectives are investigating this incident. They believe the suspects were on the dealership lot on December 29 to plan the theft, before returning the next day.

If you have any information that could help investigators, you’re asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office at (775) 887-2067.
