LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The City of Las Vegas’s Second Chance Employment Program helped hundreds of people get another shot at employment.

It is run out of The Courtyard Homeless Resource Center in downtown and is designed to help people who are homeless or formerly incarcerated, get another chance at finding a job.

A case manager will help folks with whatever they need in order to find a job that’s inline with their previous work history according to the city’s Community Resource Manager over Homelessness Initiatives, Maurice Cloutier.

Since March 2023, city officials say they’ve assisted 268 clients.

FOX5 sat down with one of those clients, Dianna Grant, who found a job at an insurance company.

She says her case manager helped her with her resume, find job fairs and even interview attire.

Although she is back on her feet now, she says the process was arduous.

“I wouldn’t say it’s sad, it’s beyond that, it’s like despair,” Grant says. “Just passing through that courtyard, there’s a lot of despair there, and that’s not for me.”
