LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Clark County is hosting its upcoming Kids Safety Fair this Thursday, offering families a free, hands-on event focused on child safety across a range of topics.
The fair will feature more than 80 vendors and booths covering traffic safety, fire safety, heat safety and online safety.
E-bikes and e-scooters on the agenda
Experts at the event will also address the risks associated with e-bikes and e-scooters, including age requirements and safety equipment.
Clark County Commissioner Marilyn Kirkpatrick said the goal is to make sure both parents and children understand the rules and responsibilities that come with riding those devices.
“Most importantly, we want to make sure that parents know that you have to be a certain age to be on that e-bike to begin with,” Kirkpatrick said. “That is the current law. But two, we also want kids to know that you are in the road and you should have a helmet on, you should have a safety vest if you’re going at night.”
