LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Clark County is seeking applications to serve on the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Citizen Review Board.
Officials say the board will consist of 25 members and any vacancies will be filled throughout the year. Being a member is voluntary and unpaid. It’s a three-year term.
According to a media release, those eligible must be residents of unincorporated Clark County or the City of Las Vegas and have no felony convictions. Elected officials are not eligible to serve on the board, as well as present or former Metro Police officers or their families.
“Potential candidates must have a flexible weekday schedule,” Clark County says. “All members who are selected must complete a minimum of 70 hours of mandatory training, including a 10-hour police ride-along, attending and completing the 12-week Citizen Police Academy, a jail tour, orientation training, and regular training sessions.”
According to Clark County, members of the board will review complaints on a rotating basis. Five-member panels get together over six-month periods to hear cases.
