Code Ninjas offering new robotics, AI academy for kids and teens

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — One of the largest and fastest growing kids coding franchise is empowering the next generation of tech experts.

Code Ninjas has two locations in the the valley and is now offering new programs focused on robotics and artificial intelligence.

“We teach them how to use AI with music creation, story writing, we teach them how to use it for coding, and then how to incorporate it in their career,” Bradley Duncan, a franchise owner of Code Ninjas said. “So if they do go into a coding field, they know exactly what they can do with AI to help that code.”

The programs are for kids ages 5 to 14. Duncan says there’s one teacher for every five students to make sure technology is being used safely.

“Because it is a worldwide tool, there is a high level of supervision, so they are more closely monitoring them,” he said.

The goal is to help students evolve with technology.

According to the Pew Research Center, 25% of teens has used ChatGPT, an AI chatbot for schoolwork, which has doubled from the previous year.

“I think right now, with everybody’s fear with AI and stuff taking over, we do highly believe that coding and learning about AI and even robotics is still equally as important as it was before AI,” he said.

Code Ninjas offers a free sessions for kids to try out a course.
