LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A Colorado man was sentenced to 10 years in prison on Wednesday for injuring another man with a hatchet in 2018.
According to court documents, Christopher Dewey Booker, 48, repeatedly struck a person using a Tomahawk hatched at Lake Mead National Recreation Area on Sept. 7, 2018.
The Department of Justice noted that the victim had sustained at least 22 injuries — which included fractures, lacerations, partial detachment of his left hand, and partial facial paralysis. The victim would permanently lose function in his jaw and left hand as a result.
A federal grand jury would indict Booker in May 2023, and in April 2024, Booker would plead guilty to one count of assault resulting in serious injury.
