LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Air conditioning has been a hot topic within the Clark County School District again this year.

FOX5 has been digging into classrooms with air conditioning problems.

On Tuesday, the CCSD Bond Oversight Committee discussed the issue again. It wants to know how big the problem is and how it can help.

“Even though summer’s ending I want to start seeing how many units will possibly need replacement. Because if the air conditioner’s not working that means the heater’s not going to be working in the next two weeks. And as of right now I’ve heard there’s about 91 schools that have issues with air conditioners going on right now,” said CCSD Bond Oversight Committee member Abraham Camejo.

The committee has asked for a report on the number of schools impacted.

It wanted that report this month, but CCSD officials at the meeting said it probably won’t be ready until next month.

FOX5 has filed a public records request for a list of school with air conditioning problems, as well as information about temperature readings of more than 85 degrees in classrooms.

FOX5 is waiting for those records requests to be filled.
