LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The Las Vegas Culinary Union voted 100 percent for a new deal with Virgin Hotels.
This ends a strike that began in November of 2024.
FOX5 witnessed Culinary Union workers gathering at their headquarters and Ted Pappageorge told members it “feels good to win.” Workers were seen with ballots in their hands.
The union has been on strike against the hotel and casino since Nov. 15. For almost nearly three months, Virgin said they were “disappointed” with the union for not “engaging in meaningful bargaining.”
Officials say the union’s demands were not realistic with the property being off the Strip.
The union represents 700 hospitality workers at Virgin. They have been fighting for a new 5-year contract with the hotel. The last contract expired on June 1, 2023.
Next, union employees who work at Virgin will vote to ratify the contract.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
