LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The National Weather Service of Las Vegas has extended a Wind Advisory through Saturday.
The NWS Las Vegas says northwest gusts can reach between 40 to 50 MPH.
FOX5 Meteorologists report strong northwest winds are already building into the valley this morning, with even stronger gusts expected this afternoon. Despite the wind, skies stay mostly sunny with highs in the mid-60s today.

Friday looks similar with gusty northwest winds continuing and highs in the mid-60s.
Officials ask residents to secure loose items such as trash and debris, be cautious while driving, and be aware that building waves could create dangerous boating conditions.
