LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Bizarre video shows a headless chicken laying outside of a Las Vegas Valley plant-based restaurant.
The founder of ChagaRoot reached out to FOX5 saying the restaurant is at the center of controversy among vegans because they recently put meat on their menu.
“Someone has left a chicken with no head just sitting right in front of us,” the person recording the video says. “I’m not really sure what to make of this.”
ChagaRoot founder, Shane Stuart , says the decapitated chicken was found yesterday outside the restaurant entrance following the decision to add a bison burger to the menu.
Stuart says the company is trying to embrace a broader, science-driven approach to nutrition. As a result, there is outrage from vegan activists, online threats and calls for ChagaRoot to shut down.
“As thoughtful as we tried to be rolling this out, it has backfired to where they’re putting decapitated chickens,” he said.
Stuart says he has seen a pattern of persecution in the vegan business space in Las Vegas as well as Los Angeles. He says other business faced attacks from vegan activists after expanding their menus.
