LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A man charged in the 1996 murder of Tupac Shakur has posted a $750,000 bond.

The surety bond acceptance notice for Duane “Keffe D” Davis was filed in Clark County District Court in Las Vegas on June 20. His attorneys previously said that Davis had been unable to raise the 10% needed to obtain a bond to be released to house arrest.

Duane “Keffe D” Davis was appointed a public defender.

Davis, 60, is originally from Compton. Police, prosecutors and Davis say he is the only person still alive who was in the car from which shots were fired near the Las Vegas Strip in the 1996 killing of Shakur.

Davis pleaded not guilty in November 2023 to first-degree murder. If convicted, he could spend the rest of his life in prison.

Judge Carli Kierny scheduled a hearing to discuss Davis’ bail on June 25. The trial is currently scheduled to begin on Nov. 4.
