LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – With less than two weeks to go until election day, voters are already making their decisions now.
That’s what’s bringing former president Donald Trump to the Valley. Trump was at the Thomas & Mack Center at UNLV to make his case to thousands of voters who packed the arena.
He talked about immigration, the economy, and his opponent, Kamala Harris, but kicked things off with this question and it got a big reaction.
The former president asked the crowd, “Are you better off now than you were four years ago?”
A chorus of boos immediately filled the stadium.
Donald Trump blamed Vice President Harris for inflation, and took jabs at her for what he says was stealing his no tax on tips plan.
But that plan didn’t get the most applause in his unofficial poll when he asked the audience if Nevadans prefer no taxes on tips, overtime or no taxes to Social Security benefits. The final question received the most applause, to which Trump responded “seniors always win.”
Trump says the thousands of people who showed up broke the record at the Thomas & Mack for the United for Change rally, which is dedicated to celebrating the Asian American and Pacific Islander community, as Trump hopes to win over another crucial voting block.
Trump spoke to them directly. “You are the greatest people. Hardworking people. It’s an honor to have you here.”
But Trump wasn’t the only big name on stage.
From former race car driver, Danica Patrick to MMA fighter, Jorge Masvidal, to Florida Senator, Marco Rubio, who said the Silver State needs to keep the momentum going and show up to the polls.
“You’re at the center of it. I truly believe how this election will go depends on Nevada,” Rubio said.
That sentiment was echoed by Trump supporter, Danica Patrick.
“Let’s not just win this election. Let’s win it by more than anyone ever has,” Patrick said.
The former president recently announced he will be back in the Vegas valley holding a rally in Henderson on Halloween.
