LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A driver was arrested on DUI charges last weekend after colliding with an ambulance in North Las Vegas, police say.

North Las Vegas Police Department shared details of the Sunday, Jan. 19 crash in a post on X Friday. The crash occurred around 8:47 p.m. in the area of Clayton Street and West Cheyenne Avenue.

Arriving officers located a Toyota truck that had rolled over after hitting a paramedic unit. The driver of the Toyota was transported to UMC with minor lacerations to the head, but no major injuries.

After receiving treatment, the driver was charged with DUI and booked into North Las Vegas Community Correction Center.

No other details about the driver were shared.

“This devastating rollover involved one of our medics, a first responder who dedicated their life to saving others – all because of a drunk driver’s reckless decision. This incident could have been avoided,” the post shared by NLVPD read.
