Driver arrested, impairment suspected in crash that left Las Vegas officer, citizen seriously injured

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said a driver who was speeding crashed into an officer and citizen in the east valley.

Police said the crash happened near Boulder Highway and Desert Inn road Tuesday evening.

FOX5 was told that a motor officer was in a plot of a convenience store speaking to a citizen. Then, a driver traveling westbound on Lamb Boulevard left the roadway at a high rate of speed and entered the property.

Police said the vehicle crashed with the officer and citizen. The two sustained “serious” but not life-threatening injuries.

Metro confirmed with FOX5 that the driver has been arrested and accused of impairment.
