LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A driver was arrested and an officer is injured after a police pursuit east of the Las Vegas Strip Thursday morning.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, around 3:07 a.m., officers observed a vehicle that appeared to be attempting to hit a pedestrian and driving in a manner that posed a danger to the public. Officers later learned that the vehicle was related to a possible kidnapping call in downtown that came in around 2:52 a.m.
Police say a pursuit was authorized and officers used a PIT maneuver to stop the vehicle, ending near Desert Inn Road and Joe W Brown Drive around 3:10 a.m.
One officer was transported for minor injuries, and the suspect was taken into custody after officers deployed tasers.
Police add that the incident appears domestic violence-related and a female victim was secured at the scene with no injuries.
The area is expected to be closed for several hours as officers continue their investigation.
