LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Las Vegas police said an 84-year-old man died at the hospital after a crash where he ran a red light and hit a light pole.

Police said the crash happened on the morning of Monday, April 21, at Flamingo Road and Spencer Street. The man, not yet identified by police, drove a 2007 Hyundai Azera.

Another driver involved in the crash drove a Mitsubishi Outlander. Police said the 84-year-old traveled east on Flamingo and ran a red light, hitting the Mitsubishi.

Police said the man drove off the roadway and hit a light pole. Medical crews arrived and transported him to Sunrise Hospital, where he died.

The driver and passenger of the Mitsubishi claimed their injuries at the scene. Police said the driver was not impaired.

The crash remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Collision Investigation Section.
