LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A driver is dead after a fiery crash in North Las Vegas early Saturday morning.
According to North Las Vegas police, the single-vehicle crash occurred around 5:28 a.m. in the 1800 block of West Carey Avenue.
Arriving officers observed a silver Nissan Murano that appeared to have struck a light pole and caught fire. North Las Vegas firefighters responded to extinguish the fire and confirmed the driver was dead.
An initial investigation determined that the Nissan was traveling west on Carey and suddenly left the roadway, striking the light pole.
Officers believe speed was a factor, but are still working to determine if impairment was involved as well.
