LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A woman is dead following a hit-and-run in the southeast valley on Thursday night.
Officers with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded to the hit-and-run crash at the intersection of Boulder Highway and Mayorga Street, near Desert Inn Road. Around 10:54 p.m., a female pedestrian was crossing Boulder Highway from east to west outside a marked crosswalk, while an unknown vehicle was traveling north.
The woman entered the roadway and was struck by the unknown vehicle, which fled the scene shortly after.
Arriving emergency medical services determined that the woman died at the scene.
“The death marked the 78th traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction for 2024,” LVMPD noted in a release. “This collision remains under investigation by the LVMPD’s collision investigation Section.”
