LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — August 4, 1969 was a big day for Elvis Presley and for The International.

On this day in history, the King of Rock and Roll signed a deal for a seven-year residency at the hotel-casino.

The contract was signed just days after Elvis created a sensation with his first sold-out show. He would go on to perform 636 more shows. All of them were a packed house.
