SPARKS, Nev. (KOLO) – Update at 11:45 p.m.: Washoe County Emergency Management is sending out an evacuation order to people in the area of North McCarran Boulevard and Pyramid Way due to the Sullivan Fire. Officials ask those impacted to go to Senior Services at 1155 E. 9th St.

Update at 10:45 p.m.: Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue says this fire, which is being called the Sullivan Fire, is estimated to be around 35 acres.

Update at 10:18 p.m.: The City of Sparks says multiple agencies are working a large brush fire in the area of Sullivan and El Rancho.

They also say there are multiple accidents in the area due to onlookers. You are asked to stay out of the area and not drive up to look at the fire.

Original Article: A fire has broken out in the hills near Hug High School.

The fire started around 9:00 p.m. Tuesday.

KOLO 8 crews say the fire appears to be several acres in size.
