LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The former Clark County School District superintendent has a new role.

Prometric, an educational testing company, announced Dr. Jesus Jara will be its new K-12 Global Practice Leader in a news release. Prometric said the role was newly created to “address the evolving needs of the K-12 Education market, including the growing influence of artificial intelligence (AI) in education.”

The company said Jara will help with the expansion of EdPower, a new cloud-based system of AI testing tools “designed to support continuous student improvement.”

The company noted that when Jara led CCSD, the district saw increased graduations rates, enrollment in AP courses and mathematics proficiency.

“As we continue to innovate in the education sector, we are thrilled to welcome Dr. Jesús Jara,” said Stuart Udell, Chief Executive Officer. “Dr. Jara’s extensive experience in leading one of the nation’s largest school systems, coupled with his dedication to educational equity and excellence, aligns with our mission to leverage technology for accessible and effective learning solutions. His proven track record championing inclusive education makes him an invaluable asset, especially as we continue to shape the future of AI in education.” 

Jara left his post with CCSD in February. In his final “State of the Schools” speech which was canceled amid his resignation, Jara said he was “incredibly proud” of the work and commitment performed by his administration.
