LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Southern Nevada housing officials have notified more than 400 residents that federal funding for Emergency Housing Vouchers (EHV) is expected to end in December.

In a statement provided to FOX5, the Southern Nevada Regional Housing Authority says this outreach is part of their required transition planning to ensure households do not experience a lapse in rental assistance.

Participants will be added to a waiting list to be considered for continued assistance once EHV assistance ends. Additionally, current EHV households will receive priority placement on the waiting list.

The authority emphasizes that this does not mean assistance is ending immediately, nor will changes be made to anyone’s current rental assistance.

The SNRHA’s statement adds, “Our goal is to make this transition as smooth as possible, and we will continue to provide updates as HUD releases additional information.”
