LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The Animal Foundation says adoption fees are waived for all adult pets.

The Las Vegas shelter says animals who are six months and older will have their fees waived as part of Bissell’s National Empty the Shelters event.

A $10 license fee may still apply.

The Animal Foundation provided this information for those looking to add a new member to their home:

  • Adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis, with doors opening at 11 AM daily. (Closed Mondays)
  • The shelter operates on a walk-in basis and does not place holds on animals.
  • Due to the high volume of patrons, adoption services may close before 7 PM once capacity is reached.
  • Patrons are encouraged to arrive early, as there may be lines.

For those looking for a specific pet, have their ID number ready.

Potential adopters should leave their current pets at home, as the shelter does not allow in-shelter dog-to-dog introductions. The Animal Foundation provides step-by-step guidance for safely introducing a new pet to any resident animals.

For more information about the event and to browse adoptable pets, potential adopters can visit the foundation’s website.
