LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Officers are on the scene of a serious traffic collision involving a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle in the area of W. Carey Avenue and Simmons Street.
Police say emergency crews are actively working the scene.

Simmons Street is closed in both directions between Carey Avenue and Evans Avenue, and officials say the road is expected to remain shut down for several hours as the investigation continues.
Drivers are urged to avoid the area and use alternate routes.
